Not necessarily, it's a system, there needs to be the correct combination of 
weight, balance and coupling to successfully damp vibrations. However sheer 
bulk will generally wins, consider the potential for vibration if your lens was 
mounted on a concrete pole. The 058/229 combination weighs over 8kg so it's not 
nearly as portable as your G1349 but it would likely dampen vibration more 
successfully. I used it in combination with my 300/2.8 + 2x +1.7x TCs and there 
was no vibration evident. The  055 & 190 are pretty light weight tripods and 
would provide worse results than your G1349.
