Many of us would prefer that unfinished auctions not be mentioned here. Some list members devote a lot of effort to finding special items on ebay. When an auction is mentioned here it frequently drives the price up. I don't want to start another flame ware over this, so I won't respond if my position is challenged. We've had some long and emotional discussions of this issue in the past. There are those who claim it doesn't matter and contend that everyone should be free to mention auctions here. It seemed that a small majority was in favor of abstaining from auction mentions. (Although some would argue that point.) In any case, at one time we seemed to have reached an informal agreement not to refer to auctions. The exceptions are auctions of your own items, which can always be listed here, and unusual items that are not conventional gear and are not valued for anything other than their uniqueness.

And while we are on the subject - what is the "rule" in regards to auctions?
I see some people say "we aren't supposed to link to unfinished auctions"
(which, oops, I have done heaps of times!), and then others that seem to
post them quite frequently - anyone know what the "go" is? I don't want to
get into trouble, but sometimes I'll see a find that I would love for a list
member to get their hands on (if I can't afford it myself that is, lol!)...

Shel,

I think that Friday was suggested some time (over a year or two?) ago as
For
Sale Day, and most seemed to agree that was appropriate.

However, I see lots of stuff posted for sale on other days, and haven't
heard any howls of indignation.

I guess Friday may be better as that's a day that some "expect" to see
stuff
posted, so they might look in on Fridays for that express purpose; you
may
therefore have a larger audience if you're selling.

FWIW...

cheers,
frank

Post 'em only on Friday, or are other days acceptable as
well.
