If I recall correctly, the MZ-50 does not vignette with the
FA28-80/3.5-5.6 and the MZ-5n does not vignette with the FA28-70/4.
If I am right, what John said below is correct:

I am also taken aback by the fact that the lens does not communicate
the fact to the body. This might be fixable with a software upgrade in
the future.
