It's a manual aperture lens, which means you have to stop down to meter, but I've never found that to be much of an inconvenience I shot with it on the *ist D last weekend and had a great time. It has a built in hood and is cosmetically excellent. The glass looks great to my eye. No fungus, no flaws, clean inside and out. I've had a great time shooting with it, and find it to be very sharp with excellent color and contrast -- even when used at 800mm with the A2X-S converter. The first $300 takes it. If it doesn't sell by Thursday, it goes on ebay. A few examples of shots I've taken with this lens follow. (All but the first and last were in combination with the A 2X-S converter. The last was with the *ist D, so the angle of view is that of a 600mm lens on a 35mm film camera.) Big glass at a budget price. Shipping and insurance is ten bucks in the US, actual cost elsewhere.
