Sorry John, but I don't that's quite right.

On both my ME II winders, when you press the release on the winder, it
trips the shutter *and* winds on.  On my MX winder, on the other hand, in
"S" mode it does not wind on until you release the trigger.

Perhaps you got the MX and MEII winders confused?
