I'm not an integrated flash fan myself, but I did find some uses for it. Sometimes (please read not always) it does a good job of fill-in. Other times I use it at parties, with fast film, heavily compensated to pick up as much of the available light (it works better just for being less obtrusive). Finally, when I go out in long, exhausting hikes, I weigh every gram I have to carry and would most likely rule out any external flash (unless it's able to levitate my sack ;o) ) That said, none of my best pictures have ever had any benefit from the RTF...
