However, multi-contrast filters, and regular B&W paper do not work well with color film. Kodak makes a color sensative B&W paper (Panalure?) that is use for that.

Hi all.
If you saw my Portra T post the other day,i mentioned the lab printed out, on B&W paper, a
really nice bullrush in snow pic.Lots of contrast, good shadow and snow detail.
Well i also shot the same with a 35mm camera(pz-1 and sigma 100-300)which i developed and
tried to print in class last night.
My problem is snow detail.
I ran several test strips off at 21,27,31,41 and 44 sec using a Beseler Printmaker 35,at
F8 and a 3.5 filter. The later two gave me nice dark bullrushes and shadows but barley any snow
detail.Near the end it looked like the snow is starting to go grey.
Any tips on getting more snow details.I thought about tracing the outline of the
bullrushes and the detail area(s) i hope to get on paper, cut that out and use this to burn in some detail but not
effect the rest.
Will the light penetrate through my burn paper to be overly hard on the rest of the shot.
