Of course I will have to ignore the Bean Mini...
The year I was born, my dad took a trip to England and brought an Austin Mini back for his mother. Subsequently my aunt acquired it and drove it until she died. Since my grandmother and aunt both lived with us, I saw a lot of that vehicle (inside & out) and in fact took some of my driving lessons and driving test in it. My dad eventually sold the car the same year my first child was born, so it was in the family for more than 30 years. This particular Mini was a "station wagon" style, so not EXACTLY the Bean kind, but close. I will say I think it had a lot of character. It once broke down when my aunt was at a horsey event in the country, and a kind friend brought it home in a horse trailer. I am not sure that would work with the BMW MiniSpoofer. More anecdotes available at GFM -- if you really want to hear 'em. ERN
