A tremendous, tremendous shot!
I've read the other comments to date, and, yes everyone's right that this one (as opposed to the other sharper one) is very well composed - much better than the first one.
But, the fact that it is not sharp (whether it's "soft" or "unfocused" makes no difference to me: it is the way it looks) is what ~makes~ the photo! It's so ethereal and dream-like, the softness is a perfect juxtaposition to the rigidity of the composition.
The person looking out the window appears to be daydreaming, and that's only re-inforced by the extreme softness.
