As soon as I have some more time, I will look into this.

Besides being a Pentax-fan, owning 7 Pentax Bodies and at least 20 lenses,
I am also the developer of a data-recovery product myself, but it does not
have very strong support for FAT filesystems yet. See:

Assuming that images on a CF-card are always written as a whole, and
almost always sequentially, there is little chance of fragmented files,
which is the main reason that UNDELETE is very unreliable on
FAT filesystems as used on computer harddisks ...
