Yeah, I have read that 'true' USB 2.0 is slightly faster than FW but there seem to be a lot of 'bogus' USB 2.0 devices around which arent up to full speed. Also I have heard that USB requires a lot more processor usage so if you are doing something on the PC while transferring files the transfer slows down. Apparently Firewire is much better in this respect, and it wont be affected by your mouse/keyboard etc that might be on the same usb bus either...
