Anytime you introduce a zoom that meets a difficult challenge on two
fronts--a challenging range AND a large constant aperture--you guarantee
that it will be bought only by pros and the well-heeled. Moreover, such a
lens is nearly always hefty and would require huge filters. Nikon made the
right choice in designing its 24-135 zoom a variable aperture.

While I don't own the 28-70 f/4 zoom, its size and value make it a
"people's zoom" that gets used frequently.

I also wait for a 17-35mm f/:2.8 FA Zoom, and at the same time, how about
change hte 28-70mm f/:4 to a 24-80mm f::2.8 ?

See you
