Here's one of the last images I made with my 4x5 view camera. This was shot at the bottom of the Salt River Canyon Gorge northeast of Phoenix Arizona. I had to stand in the water with 2 tripod legs also in the water. If I remember right it was shot at either f45 or f64 with some tilt to get the depth of field and long exposure required to get the smooth effect on the "chocolate". This was after some huge rains which washed a lot of the red rock country soil into the river which made this shot possible.
This was Velvia film which I later scanned to produce a 166mb file. I have printed this as large as 40x60 and it makes, I think, a stunning presentation when framed properly. The more I go back and review my older images, the more I get excited about revisiting these sites with my *istD. I hope to have many like these by mid spring/early summer so I can share *istD images.
