I was in the Magdellan Islands (in the Gulf of St. Lawrence) about 18 months ago. It's my paternal family's "ancestral homeland", as it were.
One day, my cousin, who summers there regularly, stopped in on a distant relative of ours, to introduce us. She (the relative) told us to come back in about an hour, as her husband was expected back then from a day of fishing, and would have lobsters for us.
We got about 12 of them, caught that day, only a couple of hours prior to that.
Although I'd had lobster before, I'd never "really" had lobster until that night. Along with several pounds of mussels fresh from the wharf, plus lots of beer, wine and camaraderie, it was a night to remember!!
And, I bet your Nova Scotia lobster was just as good. <g>
cheers, frank

Reminds me of a lovely evening after being out on a small lobster boat at
Tanner's Cove, in Nova Scotia. Lobster season was officially over, and we went
out to bring in the few remaining traps. We also brought up three or four
lobster. Dinner that night was wonderful <smile>
Fond memories.
