Frank, the truth is I LOVE those two cameras, and even if I
did get an MP (not likely for a while) I'd be hard pressed
to give up either the M2 or the M3.  They have a character
that's unavailable in newer cameras ... the way the
vulcanite feels, the materials used, their heft and feel ...
plus, and I know Paul will concur, there's just something
special about using these (and other, of course) old
cameras.  It puts me in the mood to create certain types of
photos ... the lack of a light meter and any kind of
"interface" is refreshing, and allows concentration on
what's seen in the finder, without needing to think about
anything else.  If I were to give up any camera body that I
have, it would be one of the LX.

Which brings me to a somewhat humorous story: I was out with
a friend recently, making some photos.   He was using a new,
megawunderkamera, pointed the thing at a subject, and the
damned camera wouldn't allow him to make the picture.  The
software, in the particular mode in which he was shooting,
decided that it would not allow the shot under the
circumstances ... 

I'm sure that the mode could have been changed to allow the
camera to work, but the point is, that's just more "stuff"
to think about.
