Odds?  1:1  or  100%

DOF characteristics change with optical design.
Then there's construction tolerances.  A minute difference
in the actual diameter of the iris can change DOF
noticably on 35mm.  You won't see it in landscapes
but you could easily see it on close-focus work.
And, yes, the A coatings provide a differing appearance
in colors and apparent (visual) contrast.

well, until you compare the print to the identical one taken with the
50/1.4-A, all looks good. once you do compare them you see that the pics
taken with the K lens are slightly less sharp and constrasty... also the
dept of field seems to be different (at the same aperture, the pics
taken with the A lens are in focus in a much larger section than the one
taken with the K lens, where only a tiny spot in in focus, oddly
enough.)
of course some differences might result from the A coatings being better,
and from the easier-to-focus feel of the A...

what are the odds of NONE of those differences being caused by the dusty
element in the K lens?
