There is no such thing as an average buyer of a $1250 camera. On the
one hand are the pros and the enthusiasts, on the other the fashion
victims and consumerists who just want another toy to take their fancy
for 3 days.

The reason why I (fitting in none of the categories above) care about
backwards compatibility is my looking (way) into the future. But I am
nothing to Pentax, and quite right so, since I will never have any
money for them anymore (as I only buy used).
