I fall into the "it's too dark" camp.
I don't find the composition bad, but OTOH, it doesn't do a great deal for me. As Paul (and maybe others) said, the light fall off is bothersome.
As has already been said, I wonder if it might work better in colour with better (more consistant) lighting. I might change my mind about comp were that the case.
