First off, I gotta say, I'm a sucker for lighthouses. I know I've said this on-list before, but I think it's quite funny, and you guys know I repeat myself on a regular basis anyway, but why do they call them lighthouses? They're actually quite heavy. <groan>

But, seriously, Peter, I do like lighthouses; there's just something about them. I really like this one. Maybe it's the time of day (evening, whatever), but it's just such a wistful shot. Lots of wist. Full of it, in fact.

I love the exposure on this one! Dark enough that we know it's dusk, but still bright enough that we have detail. And the darkness only emphasizes the beacon atop the lighthouse more.

Really nice comp - normailly I wouldn't like the shore bisecting like yours, but it works here, maybe because of the reflection. BTW, I find it fascinating the way that wave breaks up the reflection.

Despite my failed attempts at humour at the beginning of this post, I really do like this a lot. Wonderful photo, Peter. Thanks.

cheers,
frank

I don't know if this actually got sent so I'll apologize in advance for a double post.

Once again I'm opening myself to criticism comments and possible ridicule. Taken at dusk a couple of weeks ago 400mm lens hand held. Forget the shutter speed but it was long.
