Dust Today, Gone Tomorrow

We live in a dusty place, and a couple of weeks ago when I shot some 
rose pix with the *ist D I was unhappy with the amount of dust. I 
figured cleaning was nigh. Then last night I slipped on another lens to 
shoot a cat who was being photogenic. Result: No dust. Presumably it's 
fallen off the sensor cover but is still in the housing somewhere.

I suspect this will be a perpetual adventure.
