screw mount to bayonet mount. Photographers with a large investment in m42 lenses didn't have to
replace their entire investment. The technique wasn't as onerous as it seems now, only a few
years before Pentax didn't offer open aperture metering on any of their 35mm bodies, many people still had
more that a few Super Takumars that they were using on ES/ESII and Spotmatic F cameras.

I recently bought a late model SMC Takumar 50mm lens and adapter and mounted it to my ZX-5n. It seems for focussing you move the switch to open the lens and for metering and shooting you have move the switch on the lens to the stop down mode? It seems very akward and slow. Anyone care to comment or share some advice?
