I agree that, as presented, there is lost detail in the Velvia scans. But from my own experience I'd definitely be inclined to attribute this to a problem with the scanning; shadow areas of Velvia are an extreme test of your scanner. I greatly prefer the blossom colour from the Velvia - the Superia seems very muted (almost white). That may be a more accurate rendition ofthe true colours, but it doesn't match how the eye perceives the blossoms. I'd like to see a different scan from the Velvia before picking Superia.
