Prepare yourself for a revelation. The inside of a Mac looks virtually identical to the inside of a PC. In fact many components *are* identical. The only things that will be Apple specific are the logic board and the processor. Other components and boards are outsourced. I buy all of my Mac innards used from eBay sellers no problem at all. While visiting the USA in June I'll be picking up a complete bottom half (minus CPU and keyboard) of a PowerBook (laptop) as spares for my current model. This will include a logic board, a display inverter board, a sound board, a power board, plastic casing, cooling fan, PC card cage assembly, all for 200 USD, which is slightly over the odds, but I used a BIN and I have bought from the seller before many times who guarantees against DOA, and it is 50% cheaper than I can get in the UK. Brand new components are available also from many places. HTH Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| www.macads.co.uk/snaps _____________________________
