Well, David, it looks fine to me as you posted it.
I think it just needs a touch of extra saturation. I thought the print had more "impact"... I hate scanning colour negs. This one had quite a few scratches, too.
In fact, it looks terrific! I really like the way the pointy thing at the front of the prop (what does one call these anyway; they're not nosecones, or are they?) is mimicked by the nose of the fuselage - very nice symmetry, and a nice effect. The images reflected in the metal are a really nice touch.
To be honest I didn't notice the shape of the fuselage in the background until I saw the print. At the time of exposure I was only concentrating on the reflections and the shape of the cone. Don't ask me what kind of plane it was as I don't know.
I like the sense of space in the reflection. It looks like I was standing in a huge empty space. There were quite a few people around... my first thought was to wait for them to get out of the reflection, then I remembered that people can be a good thing (in moderation) so I waited for someone to walk past. I'm still trying to shake off that empty landscape mentality :)
I like finding "art" in the mundane.
Me too. I also like finding a tiny little section of a huge scene. Shooting landscapes at 300mm can be quite interesting. I also love my macro lens :)
