well, after 5 months of just dust on the sensor that i could blow off, i got some sticky stuff on there. blowing didn't work. tried a SpeckGrabber and that just smeared sticky stuff. that was really upsetting when the first touch with the SpeckGrabber smeared instead of a clean pickup. visions of months spent at Pentax repair danced in front of my eyes. so ended up with an isopropanol/ethanol/methanol mix used for tape head cleaning. i used a cotton swap on a long stick and washed the sensor and then dried it with another swab. after rubbing gently to get the very slight haze off. then i used a new Lenspen's polishing end to polish off the remining haze. these cleaning tools are all dedicated to cleaning the sensor and nothing else. SpeckGrabber is for lint, dust, and things like that, not soft smeary or oily.
