Ahh, but Dan, that is one of the points of the photograph. Many people are constantly involved in situations that remove them from their surroundings. People with Walkmans plugged into their heads, driving in cars with their windows rolled up, A/C on, and the stereo blasting, and cell phone users who are constantly on the phone, hence "somewhere else," to mention a few.


My intrusion with the camera has forced him to acknowledge at least a part of his surroundings, and, by the look on his face, he's not too happy about that, or at least not happy about me me intruding into his other space.
