I have the 24mm f1.8 EX DG AF macro - I use it on a D60 as a street lens
sometimes - the macro facility is very good. I haven't used this on a
film body so don't know what it's like at the edge of the frame. It crops
in to about 38mm on the D60. The build quality is not up to Pentax
standards, nor Canon's for that matter. I find the focus ring, with its
clutch-type push/pull affair flimsy, and I'm not a big fan of Smegma
lenses. I have the 70-200 2.8 which is much better, but still not my
cupofteaearlgreyhot. The latter will soon be up for sale as I enter the
heart-stopping realm of Canon L glass.....

I'm sure the Sigma will be fine, glass-wise - AFAIK it gets good write-
ups. I would, however, heavily advise that you handle this lens before
buying. If you like what you feel, then go for it!
