<snip>
There is a company out here in Mississauga which sells new and refurbed enlargers at
good
prices. If
the tax refund man is kind to me this year i may invest in a better enlarger which can
do
6x7
properly. Now that i seem to shot 95% of my B&W with the 6x7.<g>

Enlarger prices have dropped a lot.
You shouldn't have any problem getting a good deal.
You may even find a 4x5 unit with a color head for not much difference.

There's three reasons to get a 4x5 with color head:
1) Built-in filtration. Takes out most all the guess-work.
A D5 with a Dichro II head is a good thing.

2) Upright stability.
The heaftier (read: "more professional") the unit
        the less induced vibration.
        and
        the more precise the alignment.

3) Prices are dropping. Get more for not much more.

BTW, if anyone is interested, Midwest (http://www.mpex.com) has an 8x10 (10x10)
condenser enlarger! What a beast!
