Country music is somewhat marginalised here in the UK, certainly as far as the mainstream goes. A good and popular DJ who has a one hour country show on national radio here is Bob Harris, on Radio 2 on Thursday evenings at 7pm. Tonight I was roasting some lamb while listening, and he had guests in the studio - or was it a recorded interview? - with some guys who were 'discovered' busking outside the drug store in Boone, NC. They were invited to the Merl-Fest and they are on the up. Anyway, I thought Graywolf would be interested seeing as he knows the sidewalks in Boone quite well, as that's where he lives.
It's a one hour show, and the interview (including the above story in full) is into the second half - I think. Available to listen to online for the next 7 days (from April 8th 2004): <http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/bobharriscountry/index.shtml> There's also a link to the musician's site. Now back to your regularly scheduled programme ;-) Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| www.macads.co.uk/snaps _____________________________
