P.P.S. Doesn't it seem strange the decision was put up to an entire
group of individuals? I think we've lost sight of who is making the
decision that governs the PUG. Who is that right now? The
PUGmiesters?

Yeah, but this group seems to be a democracy most of the time.

Not responding to you in particular, but the question in general...
I like the idea, myself, that donations to defray costs be totally voluntary.
Which means no connection to any submissions to the PUG. Anything else would
be a deterrent to newbies contributing submissions to the PUG.

And contributors could be listed as sponsors on the page. With a form beneath
that that allows one to contribute. With PayPal link and an address to send a
check to. PayPal should be an option, IMHO, because it means some would pay
right away. That impulse thing, etc. Well, someone has said all that before.
Nothing new here.

I'd be willing to kick in a few bucks myself, although I can no longer use
the PUG. (But I still have two pictures in the archive. ;-))

Personally, I would NOT put how much each sponsor had contributed, UNLESS
they had contributed more than a certain amount. Like over $50 or so. This is the
way most non-profits do it. Large contributors listed in a separate category.
And they usually have two or more break points, like those over $50, those
over $100, etc. So it would be sponsors (everyone under 50), mega sponsors
(often mega sponsors are given a special name) of those over $50, and super mega
sponsors (those over $100). Or whatever break points the people that end up
running it determine (could be $25, $50). Or NO delineations on who is a bigger
sponsor, at all. Usually the point of even listing who is a bigger sponsor is to
give them due credit and to encourage others to donate more as well.

Well, those are my not-so-brief thoughts on the matter.
