I don't know; they are putting a lot of R&D into things like inkjet
paper. Also, most of the DIY digital print kiosks I've seen are Kodak.
That's not a consumer product but it's a fairly viable market. Still,
that doesn't look like a very broad range of products, does it?

I think they need to buy an inkjet printer company, dump a lot of money
into R&D to get it competitive with Epson/Canon/HP and hope the Kodak
name still has enough brand recognition to help.

For hardware like digicams (and my hypothetical inkjet printer) that's a
given. :(
