I'm based in Chiswick, but anywhere reachable by public transport (tube, rail or bus) would be fine.

Thanks, Cotty. Just name the boozer. I think Gianfranco may be being
slightly optimistic about his ETA in Central London, and
Hammersmith/Chiswick are not central. It would probably make sense to
meet around four or five, perhaps at the Dove, as that's walkable from
Hammersmith tube.

we're somewhat veering away from Hammersmith as the place to meet.
Giancarlo's hotel is the central bit he was talking about, just off
Russell Sq. Since Cotty will be staying at my place in Greenwich we've
been talking about picking Giancarlo up from his hotel. I reckon he'll
get there between 4.00 and 4.30. We would proceed from there perhaps to
the South Bank, so at least we're still on the river. The trip out to
Hammersmith looks a bit redundant and would mean Cotty had to cross
London 3 times in one day (Oxford-Grbut but eenwich-Hammermsith-Greenwich), although
the pubs there are better. Where will you be travelling from? Where is the
most convenient place for you?
