Kinda with tv's advice, I ordered two prints from www.mpix.com just to see what kind of quality I could get and to see just how big a 6mp image could be enlarged.
I ordered a 20x30 (inches) of this one: http://home.mindspring.com/~c_skofteland/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/cormorant_imgp1595a.jpg and a 10x13 of this one: http://home.mindspring.com/~c_skofteland/id10.html both using their Kodak "metallic" Endura paper. The files were uploaded as tiffs (~17mb each). One day and less than US$50.00 later I have both prints. WOW! the 20x30 is amazing. even up close, the edges are only slightly soft (my focusing, I can imagine what a tak-sharp image would look like!). The 10x13 is flawless as well. Compared to what I was quoted at area labs, I think mpix is very competitive. Christian Skofteland [EMAIL PROTECTED]
