Kinda with tv's advice, I ordered two prints from www.mpix.com just to see
what kind of quality I could get and to see just how big a 6mp image could
be enlarged.

I ordered a 20x30 (inches) of this one:

and a 10x13 of this one:

both using their Kodak "metallic" Endura paper.

The files were uploaded as tiffs (~17mb each).

One day and less than US$50.00 later I have both prints.

WOW!  the 20x30 is amazing.  even up close, the edges are only slightly soft
(my focusing, I can imagine what a tak-sharp image would look like!).  The
10x13 is flawless as well.

Compared to what I was quoted at area labs, I think mpix is very
competitive.
