I have two macro lenses--the 50mm F2.8 A macro, and the 200mm F4 A* macro. For setup shots, where I put the camera on a tripod, stop the lens down, and go with either outdoor available light or an external flash, I think the working distance that the 200mm affords is wonderful. The 50mm is a great do-it-all lens that can be handheld (if you brace your elbows on the ground). If I had to keep only one, it would probably be the 200mm lens. That said, I think the best lens for you depends a lot on your working style. Problem is, it's hard to figure that out until you have a macro lens. Hope this helps.... --Mark
