Hi Jens "Chschtli" has nothing to do with "washing" or "water" or "rinsing". "Splen" means "cleaning with water" for example the dishes. "Chschtli" is the furniture where you store your dishes, glasses or food, a small thing usually located at the wall in the kitchen. We do not have a dozen words for it, just that one for every tourist :-)
Hi Ryan "nice shit" = schne scheie only in Germany the double S (strong S) is written this way, in Switzerland we write it "Scheisse" You can use that sentence in many situations, but only if you are the boss! It's easy to pronounce "Chuchichschtli" Ryan, "CH" or "CK" is like spitting something (Australian food) out.... Since I still try hard to find some ugly Swiss meal to compete with the Australians in another tread, I am proud that we seem to have the strangest words :-) bye Markus -. I gues the common German word is "Kchen sple" - which translates into something like "Kitchen Rinse"
