1. What kind of filters if any do digital photographers still use?
Only effect filters or some kind of correcting filters too or is everything
made later with software?

I don't use toning filters - like warming or cooling - since that can be done just as well via white balance adjustment. But - there's no in camera polarizer yet...

2. Does/Did Pentax produce and sell filters under it's name and if yes how
are they compared to Hoya/Hama B/W and others with regard to price and
quality.

I use Pentax SMC filters, and they are excellent. But - be sure to get the SMC filters. They also make non-SMC filters.

3. Which filters do you use most if any ? Skylight, Pol?

I use a skylight or UV to protect the front element on some lenses. For example, I was shooting wildflowers last week, and my A*200 f4 macro on the tripod fell over. It was only a few inches above the ground, but got a little soft earth on the front filter. I unscrewed the filter, rinsed it under water, and then cleaned it with a cleaning cloth. There are several scratches in the filter that now would be on the front of my lens - even though it only fell a few inches.
