Kinda gutsy shooting that sort of stuff in b&w, I think, Mark.

The "old" one is nice, but I think the less successful of the two. It could use a splash of muted browns to differentiate one leave from another. Not that it's a bad photo, it just doesn't to that much for me as is.

The "new" on the other hand, is absolutely stunning!! Without the crutch to colour to fall back on, one has to live or die with form and shape alone. The lack of colour forces both you as photographer and we as viewers to concentrate on the exquisite symmetry of these leaves. Great detail, wonderful bokeh of the underlying leaves, terrific composition. I'm glad that you posted this one for us to enjoy.
