Hi Rob that was just a shot in the dark from my side, I never had a *istD in my hands....
Got/Had to use an old HP Photosmart El-200 with Pentax lens to take some photos at a press meeting for a friend, but it kept shutting itself down after taking 1-2 shoots and trying to view anything on the LCD monitor. It seems like it does not work well with (fully loaded) rechargeable batteries. When using LCD, the battery symbol immediately goes down to show them empty. After about 20 seconds, it shows full power again if you power on the Photosmart EL-200. Maybe it's defective ... My Pentax ME II winder also does not like rechargeable batteries too, it only runs *for a while* f the are absolutely fully loaded... No problems with any kind of flash on the other side. I did n o t like it at all to use that creature, I enjoy going "back to the future"....
