I've noticed an odd problem with the *ist D. Very minor and easily fixed, but odd. I keep my camera on central AF sensor mode since I always prefer to focus and recompose. Occasionally, however, it will start flashing the sensor to the left of center. (Maybe my camera is just a Democrat) A little experimentation also shows that it's actually using this sensor to focus. Just resetting the selector switch doesn't seem to help, but shutting off the camera and resetting the switch does.
