Thanks for the advice!

tan.

You are welcome. Just remember to get me Cotty's autograph at GFM.

To confuse matters further, Sigma is discontinuing their 28-70 f2.8 (or is it their 24-70 f2.8?) and bringing out a 24-60 f2.8, said to be designed for digital (but the image circle would work on a 35 mm. as well). This could be a nice solution for the *ist D, if it is a good lens. On the *ist D it would give an angle-of-view range equal to 36 to 90 mm in 35 mm format. Assuming that it tests well, I would be interested in it if I didn't already own the DA 16-45. Then again, it may be some months before it is available, then some months more before tests are available.

I hate shopping for things like this. It is so hard to determine what is best, and what is best for my shooting. Then some company announces that it will bring out something else in the class in a few months. What to do? Do you have more need of the wide angle or the tele end for weddings?

As I mentioned, if I didn't already own the Tokina 28-80 f2.8 I would probably buy the Tamron 28-75 f2.8. Or I might wait to see what Sigma's 24-60 f2.8 looks like. Or I might wait to see what Pentax slowly brings forth in the DA lineup. Or I might give up photography altogether.
