Maybe firing the flash could have improved it. I used the flash on the main subject in the foreground (for other different shots) that same day, but I'm not sure I like them more than this one. Speaking of almost monochromatic effect, I also tried desaturating all colors but reds before posting it. However, the picture did not improve so much, hence I left it unchanged, as taken that cloudy day. Dario
