The 20-35mm performs quite well on the istD.. Wow, I have one for sale!! I paid $499 USD for it at B&H about 2 months ago and its in as new condition. I have the box, Pentax supplied lens case, lens hood, and front and back caps. If this interests you it can be yours for $400 USD. I'm still waiting for some responses from other members who have expressed interest though...
Here are some shots of the lens: http://www.bluehorizon3d.com/EBAY/SMC2035a.jpg http://www.bluehorizon3d.com/EBAY/SMC2035b.jpg http://www.bluehorizon3d.com/EBAY/SMC2035c.jpg Email me off-list if you are interested. -Shawn K. -----Original Message----- From: Frantisek Vlcek [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 19, 2004 1:44 PM To: Amita Guha Subject: Re: what would you do? I do not know how the 20-35 f/4 Pentax performs on IstD (on film it's excellent, I heard), it is expensive but could be an alternative. Or how about a prime - 20mm f/2.8 ? If you do want a zoom, and 16-45 Pentax is too expensive, check just the 18-50. The longer zoom is not much different from the film lenses like excellent F 70-210 f/4-5.6, and these should be better and usable on film too. For the (relatively) low price, the 18-50 could be a good cheap lens for the IstD only. My friend has this lens on Nikon, I will ask him about it. Best regards, Frantisek Vlcek
