The class is only as good as its teacher and its applicability to your needs. Best to do some research (at which, it seems, you're good). Example: A friend has taken a class in Marin. He still can't work with photos very well, but he learned other features of PS that were important to him. So, define what you want to learn, and be sure that is what's being taught, and that the teacher is really proficient.
As for me, I've been learning through books, tutorials, the Photoshop list, and with the help of a friend who's a graphic designer. But I don't need to know everything about PS to work on photos.
