As for convenience, the hotel is right near the airport and has a free
airport shuttle, so I am hoping to able to use that to return to LAX.

The hotel you check out of will almost certainly store it for the ay for no
charge (except the inevitable tip involved in everything in North America
:), depends how convenient it is to get back the before heading to LAX.
