> You might try fCalc to go back and re-create the f-stop by determining > the in-focus distance. there are so few points in between 1.8 and 5.6 that I'd say a little experimentation and note-taking would establish the result quite easily. Assuming a portrait is a head and shoulders shot, say 60cm in height, then the focal distance is 1.75m (about 6ft). Depth of field varies from about 10-15cm (4-6") for f/3.5 to f/5.6. Assuming the eyes are the focal point and the background is unfussy and at some distance then this should produce good results. -- Cheers, Bob
