I use my Sigma EX 70-200 f2.8 with a Kenko 25 mm. extension tube to 
photograph butterflies. Together they make a pretty good combination.

Just to see what would happen, I attached my Vivitar 6000 macro flash, 
with its 52 mm. diameter opening, to the lens with its 77 mm. filter 
ring. This required two step-down rings. Well, thanks to the field of 
view of this lens on the APS-sized sensor, the combination works. There 
is no vignetting anywhere across the zoom range.

I'd never have thought that I could use a macro flash on a lens that big.
