This was with brand new cameras, less than 2 months out of the box.
I was testing them under about the most extreme conditions possible.
It was something like -43ºC, and it took about an hour and a half to
kill the K1000, and another half hour or so to do in the LX.
The LX batteries died about the same time the K1000 froze, but the
shutter kept going for some time after.
