There is actually a pretty good article on scanning colour negs (ie film with the embedded cast) at the following link: http://www.marginalsoftware.com/HowtoScan/DiscussionsTone/scanning_color_negativ e_film.htm I've never scanned any chromgenic B&W films so I'd be keen to hear the fors and againsts for each approach. I did some web searches but only found snippets of discussions, nothing absolute.
