I've been very happy with the 28-70 FA4, unfort. can't compare it to the 28-80 3.5/4.5 though they have identical Photodo ratings. The 28-70 FA4 is pretty sharp, w/ nice bokeh, I just wish it had a bit more range (80-85) thanks for the Sigma review! They DL Macro Super (newer model) now uses one apocrhomatic element.
