Please read as follows:

625 mercury cell (1.35V) was original equipment.  The Spotmatic F meter
is built so that you can directly substitute the original battery with a 1.5
volt
equivalent (or smaller, for proper housing inside the battery compartment)
and get correct meter readings however.
